The movement was first established by a group of writers and scholars from the late 19th century to early 20th century such as Mary Wollstonecraft, John Stuart Mill, Simone de Beauvoir and Betty Friedan who all worked to prove that women should be treated equally through literature and theory. In the 1960s with the emergence of popular culture focusing on female issues such as The Feminine Mystique book as well as more officially published works such as Germaine Greer's The Female Eunuch book followed by a "second wave" publishing works focused on more specific issues such as Andrea Dworkin's Intercourse book in later 60s. Looking back at history towards feminist theories we can see three unjust situations: firstly male superiority over female; secondly male superiority over male; lastly male superiority over male without respecting female members . These three unjust situations limit our understanding on true balanced coexistence between people with respect for each other like in family life where gender differences often limit couples from having true respect for each other or in workplace where gender differences often lead to objectification of bosses/superiors/employees/staffs /departments /teams /countries which leads to lack of real respect between people . Therefore an idea called physical balance of power was born which requires us to ensure physical balance between people through laws , education , news publication , pop culture so that everyone can have balanced power .
